Star-K has several different story lines depending on which type of character you choose to play. Wizards - are fictional (mostly) characters. Ningauble of the Seven Eyes from Fritz Leiber’s Gray Mouser series. Shay, the reluctant wizard of L. Sprague DeCamp and Fletcher Pratt. Rod Gallowglass, Christopher Stasheff’s, the mathematical magician and Morgan LeFay of Camelot, Arthur’s half sister. Barbarians - Beowulf, the first hero. Subedei, Ghengis Khan’s top general. Astarte’, Babylonian goddess of love. Hyortis, a Scandinavian war goddess. Necromancers - Samhain, somebody’s god of the dead. Celestina, from Fernando de Rojas’ “Trajicomedy of Calisto and Melibea” c.1500. Abbadon, hebrew name of the Destroying Angel. Astaroth, a demon, Prince of the Thrones - first hierarchy. Asmodeus, a demon, Prince of the Seraphim - first hierarchy. Sorceresses (Witches) - actual Norwegians executed for witchcraft, towns are actual towns where witches were executed! Knights - duh! Loki - Norse mythology - “the Trickster” - half brother of Thor? And Loki’s horde: Circe’, Greek mythology - turned sailors into pigs. Thulsa Doom from Robert E. Howard’s Conan books. Lord Foul, fictional. Lancelot, Merlin, Ghengis (Khan) - duh! Technical stuff: There are at least 5 story lines and 5 different character sets. Can be played multi-play up to 5 or singly. Extra Large Map, difficult. Tension guaranteed. If Loki comes for you hang it up. Sorry we are late in getting this out - it should have come before The Price of Loyalty came out. Anyway, Igor did....... We’d love to hear your comments, suggestions, criticisms but mostly your praise. Hope someone can put this through a good five way test - we did. High score is “Black Dragon”.
