Map-Testers: Ethric (kjetilgv@student.uit.no), Wimfrits (peter.okken@nl.abnamro.com). Sincere thanks to both of them for their efforts! Special Map-Tester: Pepak (heroes@pepak.net) proved that the map CAN be completed on advanced difficulty, which I didn't think possible. Pictures proving his victory (on both ending paths) are: http://www.pepak.net/tmp/mybrotherskeeper.jpg http://www.pepak.net/tmp/mybrotherskeeper-king.jpg http://www.pepak.net/tmp/mybrotherskeeper-me.jpg, Description: You are Kozza, a descendant of the mighty Kozzus who defeated Hexis. The kingdom you live in was peaceful until something strange began to happen to the king. He became hermit-like and eventually people across the country started dissapearing. Your brother recently suffered that fate and you have been chosen by your family to confront the king and rescue your brother. Additional Info: DIFFICULTY NOTES The map must be played on intermediate difficulty due to the way experience per creature decreases as the difficulty increases and the fact that stack sizes remain the same due to the scripts in the map. There is a script at the start which will check if a player is playing on intermediate and warn them if they aren't. Player's who find the map difficult should turn the in-game tips on. It is DEFINATELY possible to complete it though. I have played every battle through many, many times. Certain battles require specific strategies and possibly a specific artifact. If you cannot complete a battle, either you aren't "meant" to do it at the time (you haven't explored the area of map you are supposed to) or you aren't using the right strategy. Read the combat tips below and when you have spells at your command (late in the game) experiment with different combinations of spells. COMBAT TIPS *Develop combat, archery and melee skills in that order. *You are primarily an archer, so you should prioritise targets carefully before they get to you. Kill the fastest targets first generally. *Learn how to use the wait command (w key) to minimise retaliation. If you wait, let the enemy attack, and then attack twice in a row (ie don't wait in the second round) you will get one attack without any retaliation. *The previous method can also be used to use ranged attack on a target which has closed to melee distance. Wait, let the enemy attack, run away and then attack (ranged) at the start of the next round. *If an enemy is slower than you then you can use the above tactic without having to wait first... just run away each round and then shoot. The enemy will get one melee attack in for every one time that you shoot. *The spider silk arrow which you get in the ranger's town is devastating to flying creatures, which should be your first priority in future combats. *Often heroes shouldn't be a high priority target as they can take too many turns to kill. *Mass slow is very useful to an archer.
