Description File for 'The Troglodyte Rebellion' Heroes III Custom Campaign ========================================================================== Name: The Troglodyte Rebellion Version: 1.0 Released: August 2001 Game: Heroes III Game Version: Shadow of Death (created with Heroes III Complete) Type: Custom Campaign No of Scenarios: 12 Overall difficulty level: NORMAL Author: Crystalline Hawk E-mail: Crystalline_Hawk@hotmail.com Tested by: Sir Amix (and the Author!) Distribution: You may distribute this campaign freely provided you do not alter it in any way without prior permission from the author (e-mail above) It would also be appreciated if you included this text document with the campaign file. Feedback: Comments are invited. Six months of work (design, build and test) went into the creation of this epic, and it would be nice to know if anyone is even playing it out there! Please feel free to e-mail me with your comments on what you liked (or didn't like!), or anything else you wish to say about it. If you want to criticise, feel free, but remember: constructive criticism is always the best type! Synopsis: This campaign tells a story, set over twelve scenarios. The maps are not intended to be played standalone, but are integrated as a campaign. The story concerns the hero Drakti, a Troglodyte Slave of an evil alliance that has had his kind in servitude for eons. The player takes Drakti from his humble beginnings as a slave working in a gold mine for his masters, to a great hero and liberator of his people. Along the way, he will seek to make new friends to help him, and to find out what happened to the ancient protectors of his people. The story develops the themes of slavery, betrayal, treachery, greed, loyalty, faith, and friendship. In a sense, it reverses the age old themes of good and evil. The Heroes III Dungeon type is normally associated with evil, but in this story, its the Dungeon folk who have been so wronged! Other Information: The breakdown of map sizes is as follows: SMALL: 2 MEDIUM: 6 LARGE: 4 EXTRA-LARGE: None Half the missions are timed. Most of the scenarios have special win conditions. When you start the game, you will receive a day one message in the first scenario, which will give you some background and tips. Please read it! Although there are twelve scenarios, most of them can be played fairly quickly, so playing the whole campaign through is unlikely to take as long as you might imagine a campaign this size would. I have tried to create a campaign that has varied scenarios and different 'feels' to these maps. Its not twelve maps of all exactly the same thing: variety is the spice of life! ---- Enjoy ---- Crystalline Hawk
